Philosophies

No philosophy is perfect or comprehensive. And all philosophies were written by individuals in a different time than us. We are our own people who can think for ourselves. Thus we need to do so and develop our own philosophies, ones that empower and exude compassion.

I don't know much about being in love but,
I know that I am happy when you're in the room
and my heart sinks a little when you leave.

I feel like I'm on top of the world.
I don't know much about being in love but,
I've never felt this connected to a man before,
Or that someone understands and appreciates me as much as you do.
I don't know much about being in love but,
I know that I haven't gotten you out of my mind
in four years.

I know it's probably time to say good-bye but,
I don't want to.
I want to tell you how I feel but,
Instead I find myself avoiding your eyes,
telling myself that I have to move on,
that it's all been a figment of my imagination.
It's easier to do that than face the harsh reality.
