Nature

I went camping and hiking up north this weekend and it was so beautiful. I find that getting out into nature really relaxes me. But not only that, I realized that reconnecting with nature also rejuvenates me and restores my faith that things can make sense. In nature, everything really makes sense, unlike what we humans do to each other in our own world. Some of the insane stories of what we do to each other don't make sense (to put it mildly) and cause me despair.

But animals, they do not unnecessarily kill each other. Mama birds protect their young and then let them go. A lion does not attack if he is not hungry. A storm comes when it needs to come, as does an earthquake or avalanche. Those things certainly cause destruction, but they make sense. Things follow a natural progression of trying to reach homeostasis, rather than their being pride, imperialism or greed.

If only we could learn from nature: let things follow their natural course, do not fight unnecessarily, and become at peace with the earth. The world of humans would be very different.
