Sweetie

I just absolutely love my kitty cat. I can't imagine my life without her. She is the "sweetest of sweeties" as a friend of mind says. Not only is she the most beautiful creature of all, she is so loving. It's amazing I get any work done because I'm taking a break every couple minutes to hug her and give her kisses-she is just irresistable laying there curled up on my bed. She keeps me so grounded; when I'm caught up in fruitless, negative, trivial thinking, I come home and realize she needs to be fed and loved. She needs me for her well-being whereas I can take care of myself. Animals are amazing-they have their own personalities and keep things so simple at the same time. And they can't hurt us the way people can.

Gandhi

I love Gandhi's quote: "You must be the change you want to see in the world." I've been trying to live according to that, but sad that at only the age of 29 I'm seeing how little integrity people in general have. Maybe that is why we make such little progress compared to how much we could be making; those with the highest of standards and best of intentions get shot down so much, and that can be wearing after a while, and soon it's easy to just think, "If you can't beat 'em, join 'em."
